Meeting/Event Information

The German-American Business Council is thrilled yet again to welcome you to the venerable Detroit Athletic Club for a special evening on the New Detroit. The New Detroit: Where Mobility, Medicine, and Innovation Converge highlights Detroit’s evolution beyond its automotive heritage into a city where healthcare, technology, and innovation come together to create new opportunities for growth. At the heart of this transformation are organizations such as Henry Ford Health, Michigan State University Health Sciences, Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, and a growing network of public and private sector partners working together to redefine Detroit’s future.

Jerry Darby will share insights into the transformative Destination: Grand project, which includes a new state-of-the-art hospital tower, expanded emergency and surgical facilities, sustainable infrastructure, research partnerships, and enhanced community spaces. He will share with us how healthcare redevelopment is serving as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization, job creation, investment, and the continued renaissance of Detroit as a destination for both innovation and quality of life.
